Ernest Griggs Sr. founded Ocala Tire Service, Inc. in April 1960. The company at the time sold tires and Hercules Dynamite. Ernest Griggs Jr. joined his father in the business in Nov. 1964. In 1975 the decision was made to discontinue selling Hercules Dynamite, and instead to offer Brake work and Front End Service. Ernest Griggs Sr. retired from the business in 1977. In 1986 Ernest Griggs III (Tripp) joined the business with his father. In 1997 Mike Griggs joined his father and brother in the business. Today the family owned and operated business is mainly run by Ernest's two sons as Ernest is semiretired.
